I only wanted you

They say memories are golden, well maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories, i only wanted you.
A million times i needed you,a million times i cried.
If love alone could have saved you,you never would have died.
In life i loved you dearly,in death i love you still.
In my heart you hold a place,no one else could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway, and heartache make a lane.
I'd walk the path to heaven, and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,the chain will link again. xx

I'm So Sorry.

I stood by your bed last night...
I came to have a peep.
I could see that you'd been crying,
And you found it hard to sleep

I whined to you softly
as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me. I haven't left you.
I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast...
I watched you pour your tea.
You were thinking of the many times
Your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at my grave today...
You tend to it with such care.
I want to reassure you
That I'm not lying there.

I walked you towards the house
As you fumbled for the key.
I gently put my paw on you...
I smiled and said, "its me."

You looked so very tired
As you sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know
That I was sitting there.

It's wonderful for me to be
So near you everyday,
To say to you with certainty,
"I never went away."

You sat there very quietly,
Then smiled... I think you knew
That in the stillness of the evening
I was very close to you.

And when the time is right for you
To cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to meet you
And we'll stand there side by side.

I have so many things to show you!
There's so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out,
Then come home to be with me.

Precious Love

The agony is so great...
and yet I will stand it.
Had I not loved so very much...
I would not hurt so much.
But God knows I would not want to diminish
that precious love...
By one fraction of an ounce.
I will hurt...
And I will be grateful for that hurt
For it bears witness to the depth of my love.
And for that I will be eternally grateful.

Taurus

It is true that physically Taurus is no longer here,
But in spirit he will always be near....
It is true that Taurus physically has gone,
But we will always remember a dog who was second to none....
It is true that physically with us Taurus will no longer be,
But now he will run forever free....
RIP Taurus..

I explained to St. Peter,
I'd rather stay here,
Outside the Pearly Gate.
I won't be a nuisance,
I won't even bark,
I'll be very patient and wait.
I'll be here chewing on a celestial bone,
No matter how long you may be.
I'd miss you so much, if I went in alone,
it wouldn't be Heaven for me...

My Best Friend

My best friend is resting in my arms,
I can feel his coat touching my skin.
It used to be warm but now its cold.
I chase this,did i choose wrong.
I remember the great times we had together.
The way you used to look at me.
How you used to lick away my tears when i was sad.

I remember your footsteps and the sound of your tail.
The noise you made when you drank or ate.
Everything is quiet now,I cannot talk to you now.
I wish i had said everything i wanted before you left.
But i can think of a hundred words or more.
One more hug would mean the world to me.

Or to feel your gentle paw in my hand.
But its over now.
I just wish we could meet again.
And that my wish someday will come true.
Untill then sleep well my friend.
i will always miss you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

ONE MAN'S SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO A DOG

The one absolutely unselfish friend that
a man can have in this selfish world,
the one that never deserts him,
the one that never proves ungrateful
or treacherous, is his dog.

A man's dog stands by him in prosperity
and in poverty,
in health and in sickness.
He will sleep on the cold ground where
the wintery winds blow,
and the snow drives fiercely,
if only he may be near his master's
side. He will kiss the hand that has no
food to offer, he will lick the sores
and wounds that come in encounter with
the roughness of the world. He guards
the sleep of his Pauper master as if he
were a prince.

When all other friends desert,
he remains.
When riches take wings and reputation
falls to pieces, he is as constant in
his love as the sun in it's journey
through the heavens.
If misfortune drives the master forth
an outcast in the world, friendless
and homeless, the faithful dog asks
no higher privilege than that of
accompanying him to guard against
danger, to fight against his enemies.

And when the last scene of all comes,
and death takes the master in it's
embrace, and his body is laid away in
the cold ground, no matter if all other
friends pursue their way, there by the
graveside will the noble dog be found,
his head between his paws, his eyes sad,
but open in alert watchfulness,
faithful and true, even in death.

-From a speech given by
Former Senator George Graham Vest
of Missouri. Delivered in 1870 when he
was acting as a lawyer in a suit against
a man who had killed the dog of his
client. -- He won the case.

Baby,

I've lost my dog.
And i am crying,my heart is broken to bits.
I loved you dearly,my darling.
And will remember you,indeed.

You gave me happiness for years.
You was my dear friend in life.
My darling Baby,i'm sorry.
I was with you when you died.

But this is not the end my Baby.
I will remember you each day.
I will remember the happy times.
Your funny run,your silly play.

You were the first and best my Baby.
I could'nt wish for a better dog.
Sleep peacefully my darling now.
God bless you and i love you more.

Lord, you have embraced a good friend and loving companion.
While we mourn what we have lost, we do celebrate what we had...
and in saying goodbye, we renew our pledge to love and care
for any creature you entrust to us for its time of life.
Thank you, Lord, for the joy this loved one gave us and for making it
possible for us to have made this friend's life a good one.
